The “Gebyar Warteg PPWJ Wong Pantura” event in Bojong Kulur, Bogor, West Java, in 2003 was a cultural and musical celebration organized by the Paguyuban Pedagang Warteg Jadebotabek (PPWJ) “Wong Pantura,” a community of warteg (small eatery) traders from the Pantura (northern coast of Java) region. Held in Bojong Kulur, Gunung Putri subdistrict, this event was the first of three “Gebyar Dangdut Warteg Pantura” gatherings between 2003 and 2004. It featured lively dangdut performances, turning local wartegs into vibrant stages, with enthusiastic singers and a festive atmosphere. A key highlight was the presence of retired General H. Wiranto, who served as the Chairman of the PPWJ Advisory Board, adding prominence to the event. His involvement underscored the community’s pride and unity, bringing together warteg traders and locals to celebrate Pantura’s cultural heritage through music and camaraderie.
